On Tuesday, the US site was published. News & World Report in collaboration with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the BAV Consulting Database ranked the best countries in the world to live in 2017, giving preference to countries that enjoy peace, tranquility and prosperity.
Here’s a look at some of the categories and lists that the report published, and let’s start with the best countries ever.
Best countries ever
For the first time, Switzerland ranked first, for a range of government factors and behaviors in education, democracy, business, and quality of life. Canada came second with the United Kingdom in third place.
Germany, which ranked first last year, fell to fourth place because of the terrorist attacks and the political tension that hit the country in the past period.
The United States fell to seventh place this year with a lower assessment of respect for human rights and democracy.
Best countries for children
Scandinavian countries took control of the best countries in which to raise children. Sweden came first, followed by Denmark, Norway, Finland and Canada.
The results were based on the classification of each country in terms of its commitment to human rights, equality between men and women, quality of physical income, education and public health.
The best countries in terms of education
Canada ranked first in the list of the best countries in terms of education. Primary and secondary education is free and compulsory since the age of five, and in second place is the United Kingdom, which has a compulsory education system from 5-16 years. Germany was the founder of the Kindergarten in 1840.
This classification was based on the development of the country’s education system as well as on the classification of universities.
Best countries to start a business
Despite Thailand’s first place for the second time in a row, but faces stiff competition from its developed regional neighbor. Where China jumped three places last year to get this year to the second place.
The United States dropped two places to ninth place this year.
Indonesia and Vietnam are among the top 10 countries to start a business for the first time.
Best countries for women
Sweden is crowned as the best country for women in the world. This is not strange. The Swedish yoke describes gender equality as the cornerstone of Swedish society. This principle is reinforced by the educational system there. About two-thirds of the degrees are awarded to Swedish women.
